Just Wondering Wednesdays *1*

So I stated last Friday that I decided to create a new weekly meme called Just Wondering Wednesdays!!
The reason I decided to create this meme is because sometimes I am wondering bookish related things, such as likes, dislikes, pet peeves, things I love about books and I wanted to discuss it and see what other people's thoughts are on the subject. I figured I am not the only one wondering random things so maybe you guys might want to be apart of it. (Soon I will create a Just Wondering Wednesday Pik, I will take suggestions)
So to participate every week is pretty simple. Every Wednesday I will ask a questions about something I am wondering about and all you have to do is answer and use the Mr. Linky I provide. Now if lets say your not really interested in my questions or are maybe wondering some other bookish things that you want to discuss, then your post can be about what your wondering about this week. Simple?? I wanted to ask an easy question this week to get things started.
I was just wondering what are your pet peeves when reading a book?
- What drives me insane are books that are told in 1st POV but in present tense. It's so annoying. I mean it's so simple to read a book in 1st POV past tense. I'n not sure if many know the difference so I will give an example.
Present: "I lay on my as my phone rings", Past: "As I laid in my bed my phone began to ring." I know for some that may not be a big deal but it drives me insane. As I read a book like that, I feel like I have to translate it into past tense, I know weird huh.

- Another thing that drives me crazy is when authors try to build suspense or interest in a book by withholding any information till the last 20 pages. I mean I understand that your trying to keep us surprised but come on now, I feel like if I am half way through a book and the protagonist doesn't know whats going on and really isn't doing much to figure it out or asking all the wrong questions, it doesn't make me want to continue reading.

I would love to hear your thoughts on my question or if you guys have been wondering anything worth discussing?
