Book Blogger Hop *6* & Follow My Book Blog Friday *5*

Follow Friday is hosted by the lovely Rachel at Parajunkee's View. Here is her question:

"DO YOU JUDGE A BOOK BY IT'S COVER?"

  • UMMMM YESSSSSSSSSSS!
  • YES YES YES! Half the fun of buying books is admiring the cover!!!! Granted that's not the best the thing, there are some sketchy books with amazing covers but I can't help wanting to buy books that look pretty.
But to not make my self look so bad, if I like a cover of a book I don;t know I'll research the book. Look at how the blogs I followed rated/review it and then I will make my decision from there. Example Halo: Alexandra Adornetto I was obsessed when I saw this book, but I have read not so great reviews so I am hesitant to buy it!

but then there are those books that have those not so good covers which I am in love with example (the hunger games & vampire academy series). these 2 series could definitely use a cover revamping!
The Book Blogger Hop is a weekly event hosted by Jennifer at Crazy for Books and runs from Friday to Sunday.

Head over and sign up and see what you can find! Each week a different question will be added to the hop in order for conversations to occur, and for your followers to get to know you better. Here we go!

  1. Hopping through. Great covers catch my eye, but like you the reviews and blurbs are ultimately more important.

  4. I admit that I am guilty of judging a book by its cover. I loved the cover of Halo also and found it to be one of my favorite books!

  5. Haha, you are so right about poor Richelle Mead's books. Although, I do like the last three in the VA series.

  6. Hi Melissa! New follower here. Would love for you to follow me. Nice to meet you.

For me, it is the cover and the title that tempt me to read the blurb. If the blurb reads great, I'll grab the book. I remember the first time I saw Harry Potter's book covers, I was like, O_o...not sure if I liked them. Love the inside but the covers weren't really to my taste.
    Happy Follow Friday!!!

  7. The pretty covers always get my attention first! But I have learned to never buy a book unless the description sells me! I'm already a follower. My FF is at Coffee Table Reviews

  8. Hi there! Just hopping through. Totally agree with you about the covers! And I'm the same with Halo-I really like the cover, but I haven't heard much good about it at all.

    I'm a new follower!

My FF can be found here!

  9. I think we can all agree that even the most beautiful book cover can't sell a book if the writing's not there. Book cover art may, at best, help steer me in the book's direction (especially if I'm in a book store) but it's not going to hypnotize me into buying it right then and there.

I expound on all the marketing qualities of a good book. Just follow me back to my book blog - http://www.howardsherman.net

    Thank God it's Follow Friday!?

  11. Hi, old follower hopping through!
Hmm, Halo's a tricky one. I'm not the best judge: I read Shakespeare for fun, and I'm very odd (not my words). ;)
Oh, have you seen the new red versions of VA: they're really pretty in my opinion.
    Have a great weekend!
