Review: Last Sacrifice: Richelle Mead

Title: Last Sacrifice
Author: Richelle Mead
Vampire Academy Series: Book 6
Summary:
Rose Hathaway has always played by her own rules.

She broke the law when she ran away from St. Vladimir’s Academy with her best friend and last surviving Dragomir Princess, Lissa. She broke the law when she fell in love with her gorgeous, off-limits instructor, Dimitri. And she dared to defy Queen Tatiana, leader of the Moroi world, risking her life and reputation to protect generations of dhampir guardian to come.

Now the law has finally caught up with Rose- for a crime she didn’t even commit. She’s in prison for the highest offense imaginable: the assassination of a monarch. She’ll need help from both Dimitri and Adrian to find the one living person who can stall her execution and force the Moroi elite to acknowledge a shocking new candidate for the royal throne: Vasilisa Dragomir.

But the clock on Rose’s life is running out. Rose knows in her heart the world of the dead wants her back… and this time she is truly out of second chances. The big question is, when your life is about saving others, who will save you?

Cover:
I really liked this cover. The girl is very pretty and it ties in very nicely with the series! Although I do like  some of the international covers for this series.
My Review:
I absolutlely love this series. (spoilers)

I am so happy Dimitri was with Rose throughout the whole book. I literally was so nervous when Dimitri was at th end of that hallway to help break Rose out. I knew he was going to be part of it he just had to be. I was laughing so much when Rose tricked Dimitri into a kiss just to punch him after. I wanted them to fall back in love; just like the way they originally had.

I really have not found any two characters that belong together the way these two do. I feel Richelle did an awesome job of showing us again why they belong together. Richelle did an awesome job at reminding and rekindleing their love for one another. There love was never i just met you so I love you and am obsessed with you. It has always been something that grew from similar morals, personalities and many other amazing things.

Although I had figured out who was Lissa sister before I read LS, I didn't know for sure who killed the queen. Wow I was surprised. The ending felt a little rushed but I think that was purposely done for many reasons. I think Richelle left those loose strings purposely for Bloodlines.

I am very happy to see Lissa being as helpful and supportive to Rose even though they weren't necessarily together. I'm so happy Rose and Dimitri ended up together. Even though I grew to like Adrian a bunch I knew he was never meant for Rose. I think Rose said it perfectly (She has never named herself the victim), and that right there says a lot about her character. She has always needed someone to have the ability to take care of her even though she can take of herself and not once did I ever think Adrian was able to be that person for her.I was upset that there wasnt much closure for Adrian, but i think Adrian will have his happy ending in Bloodlines.

I was upset of how Rose and Lissa lost the bond, but I guess it is way better for Rose. She has lost that darkness and doesn't have to worry about Lissa all the time. I think in a way the Last Sacrifice was Rose jumping in front of Lissa before she got shot.Just for the simple fact that was ultimately the last sacrifice to literally save Lissa's life while having that life time of darkness being taken away from that act.

I really loved this series, Richelle has an amazing was of making theese characters so real and I am so happy she created this beautiful world. She is an amazing author and is Officially the best. Thanks so much for this amazing Journey!!!

Review: Shadow Kiss: Richelle Mead

Title: Shadow Kiss
Author: Richelle Mead
Vampire Academy Series: Book 3
Summary:
For Rose Hathaway, everything seems out of kilter. Ever since she made her first Strigoi kills, a dark shadow has been creeping over her. Looming in the background, too, is another realization: If she follows her forbidden love for guardian Dimitri Belikov, she might lose her best friend forever. And these sleep-shaking worries couldn't have come at a worse time. The immortal unloving are prowling everywhere, famished for vengeance against her. An adrenaline-laced episode of the teen pop favorite Vampire Academy.

My Review:
I really loved this book. One of the reasons was because Rose has grown up a lot and is more and more mature. She has gone through so much by this time that you cant help but love her for being so strong.
*** Alert Spoilers Below****

I think this book shows how amazing Rose really is. Among her regular stresses shes deals with, she's now dealing with mason's ghost following her, crazy amounts of anger, and taking all that darkness from lissa. She's also trying to be more adult with the whole dimitri situation. She's not resulting to childish behavior like in Frost Bite.

I feel like this book really depicts how much Dimitri really loves and cares for Rose. There really was so much foreshadowing in the previous books and especially this one, that you cant help but wonder what is going to happen.

I know that this book might not have been liked for its ending but it really was an amazing ending. In shadow kiss you really can see how serious Dimitri and Rose are about being guardians and you see how talented they are. I'm also very in this book because Dimitri opens up to Rose.I love how he finally let his guard down for Rose as well seeing her for what she is.

He even started thinking about their future together. Now as for the whole Dimitri turning strigoi thing, it was bound to happen. Richelle foreshadowed this in vampire academy, and I think it needed to be done. This book is definately one of my favorite from the whole series.

Review: Beautiful Creatures: Kami Garcia & Magaret Stohl

Title: Beautiful Creatures
Author: Kami Garcia & Magaret Stohl
Caster Chronicles: Book 1
Summary:
There were no surprises in Gatlin County. We were pretty much the epicenter of the middle of nowhere. At least, that's what I thought.Turns out, I couldn't have been more wrong. There was a curse. There was a girl. And in the end, there was a grave.

Lena Duchannes is unlike anyone the small Southern town of Gatlin has ever seen, and she's struggling to conceal her power, and a curse that has haunted her family for generations. But even within the overgrown gardens, murky swamps and crumbling graveyards of the forgotten South, a secret cannot stay hidden forever.
Ethan Wate, who has been counting the months until he can escape from Gatlin, is haunted by dreams of a beautiful girl he has never met. When Lena moves into the town's oldest and most infamous plantation, Ethan is inexplicably drawn to her and determined to uncover the connection between them. In a town with no surprises, one secret could change everything.

Cover:
I thought the cover was okay, it really didn't give too much as to what the book was about. It was okay.

My Review:
So this book was a litttle weird for me. It was not horrible writing or a horrible story but I found myself feeling very indifferent. At times while reading the book I didn't know what was going on maybe it could have been them overly describing or I don't know what exactly.

It took me about a month to read this book. I found myself leaving the book and not thinking about it much. I'm the type that reads a book in 1-2 days. I honestly didn't care what happened to the characters which is a bad sign when reading a book. I just didn't connect to these characters. I don't really find Ethen too amazing and Lena isn't very interesting.

I didn't really feel like it truly was a male's POV. From the descriptions of Lena she didn't sound attractive. It really wasn't realistic. I found myself just pushing through the book to finish it since I had invested so much time.

Don't get me wrong the story wasn't bad but it wasn't as good as all the hype. I wont read the sequel. I liked the dual lovestory and other things in the story. But the characters weren't believable. I'm upset that I read this book because I really wouldn't read it again.
