STARTED MY OWN WEDNESDAY MEME

Cover Crazy Monday *5*

COVER CRAZY MONDAY is a weekly meme hosted by  the Book Worms. The point of this meme is to admire the art and beauty of a book’s design, so I’m going to post minimal words. It is up to you to write how you feel and what you like about it the way you’d like to.

Cassia has always trusted the Society to make the right choices for her: what to read, what to watch, what to believe. So when Xander's face appears on-screen at her Matching ceremony, Cassia knows with complete certainty that he is her ideal mate . . . until she sees Ky Markham's face flash for an instant before the screen fades to black.
The Society tells her it's a glitch, a rare malfunction, and that she should focus on the happy life she's destined to lead with Xander. But Cassia can't stop thinking about Ky, and as they slowly fall in love, Cassia begins to doubt the Society's infallibility and is faced with an impossible choice: between Xander and Ky, between the only life she's known and a path that no one else has dared to follow.

I love love this cover!!!  I love how she's in a bubble it's very representative of the society she's living in.  I love her dark chocolate hair with her bright green dress. She looks so pretty I love this book so much!!!

What cover are you crazy for this week?

It's Monday! What are you Reading? *4*

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading, is where we gather to share what we have read this past week and what we plan to read this week.  It is a great way to network with other bloggers, see some wonderful blogs,  and put new titles on your reading list. Hosted by Book Journey .

I haven't participated  this meme for while because I was reading the same book for weeks since I didn't have time to finish it.  So I'm back.

What I am Reading:
The Iron Queen: Julie Kagawa
Synopsis: Goodreads
My name is Meghan Chase.
I thought it was over. That my time with the fey, the impossible choices I had to make, the sacrifices of those I loved, was behind me. But a storm is approaching, an army of Iron fey that will drag me back, kicking and screaming. Drag me away from the banished prince who's sworn to stand by my side. Drag me into the core of conflict so powerful, I'm not sure anyone can survive it.
This time, there will be no turning back.

So far this book has started out strong. Meghan has more of appeal to her that I didn't see in The Iron Daughter. I hope this book delivers and only gets better!

What I am Reading:
The Vespertine: Saundra Mitchell
Synopsis: Goodreads
It’s the summer of 1889, and Amelia van den Broek is new to Baltimore and eager to take in all the pleasures the city has to offer. But her gaiety is interrupted by disturbing, dreamlike visions she has only at sunset—visions that offer glimpses of the future. Soon, friends and strangers alike call on Amelia to hear her prophecies. However, a forbidden romance with Nathaniel, an artist, threatens the new life Amelia is building in Baltimore. This enigmatic young man is keeping secrets of his own—still, Amelia finds herself irrepressibly drawn to him.
When one of her darkest visions comes to pass, Amelia’s world is thrown into chaos. And those around her begin to wonder if she’s not the seer of dark portents, but the cause.

Okay so I have had this book on my laptop for weeks, but have yet to get to it. I really wanted to read it but I usually don't like reading from my laptop because my eyes get tired so easily. I kind of pushed this book aside when I started reading the iron fey series, but I hope I don't get distracted with something else.

SO what are you guys reading this week?

On My Wishlist.....*9*

On My Wishlist is a great event that Book Chick City runs every Saturday. It's where you list all of the books that you desperately want but haven't actually bought yet. They can be old, new or forthcoming. I thought this was a great way to start off my blog.

Angelfire: Courtney Allison Moulton
SYNOPSIS: GOODREADS
This debut, the first novel in a trilogy, is achingly romantic, terrifying, and filled with blistering action. When seventeen-year-old Ellie starts seeing reapers - monstrous creatures who devour humans and send their souls to Hell - she finds herself on the front lines of a supernatural war between archangels and the Fallen and faced with the possible destruction of her soul.

A mysterious boy named Will reveals she is the reincarnation of an ancient warrior, the only one capable of wielding swords of angelfire to fight the reapers, and he is an immortal sworn to protect her in battle. Now that Ellie's powers have been awakened, a powerful reaper called Bastian has come forward to challenge her. He has employed a fierce assassin to eliminate her - an assassin who has already killed her once.

While balancing her dwindling social life and reaper-hunting duties, she and Will discover Bastian is searching for a dormant creature believed to be a true soul reaper. Bastian plans to use this weapon to ignite the End of Days and to destroy Ellie's soul, ending her rebirth cycle forever. Now, she must face an army of Bastian's most frightening reapers, prevent the soul reaper from consuming her soul, and uncover the secrets of her past lives - including truths that may be too frightening to remember.

I keep hearing about how great this book is. I know it's about angels and that's about it!!!

The Iron Witch: Karen Mahoney
Synopsis: Goodreads
Freak. That's what her classmates call seventeen-year-old Donna Underwood. When she was seven, a horrific fey attack killed her father and drove her mother mad. Donna's own nearly fatal injuries from the assault were fixed by magic—the iron tattoos branding her hands and arms. The child of alchemists, Donna feels cursed by the magical heritage that destroyed her parents and any chance she had for a normal life. The only thing that keeps her sane and grounded is her relationship with her best friend, Navin Sharma.
When the darkest outcasts of Faerie—the vicious wood elves—abduct Navin, Donna finally has to accept her role in the centuries old war between the humans and the fey. Assisted by Xan, a gorgeous half-fey dropout with secrets of his own, Donna races to save her friend—even if it means betraying everything her parents and the alchemist community fought to the death to protect.

So I have been accustomed to hearing about Iron being used against fairies, so I am very interested to hear about how iron is being used against a witch. I keep seeing great review for this book as well. Looking forward to reading it!

Book Blogger Hop *3* & Follow My Book Blog Friday *2*

The Book Blogger Hop is a weekly event hosted by Jennifer at Crazy for Books and runs from Friday to Sunday.

The Hop is a fantastic way to get your blog noticed, and visit some other blogs that you didn't know about before. Head over and sign up and see what you can find! Each week a different question will be added to the hop in order for conversations to occur, and for your followers to get to know you better. Here we go!

Follow Friday is hosted by the lovely Rachel at Parajunkee's View. Here is her question:

"Share your current fave television show! Tell us a bit about it..."

This is definitely a hard question for me because I have always been a junkie for tv shows/ series. My current favorite shows include the office, house, svu, gossip girls, glee, jersey shore, the ellen degenereous show, desperate housewives, true blood, and burn notice. As you can see I have a serious problem. And in the 90's when there was no DVR's I would throw the biggest hissy fits when I couldn't watch buffy the vampire slayer and Friends because I missed it on tv.  I am a tv junkie, i guess that's the first step, admitting that I have a problem!

Book Blogger Hop is a weekly meme hosted by Crazy for Books.

This week's question is :  Do you ever wish you would have name your blog different?

No because I think the name paranormally romanced is exactly perfect for me. I think my goal when I read a book is to be paranormally romanced. I wanted too fall in love with the characters. I have so many book boyfriends that I can barely keep up!

Review: The Iron Daughter: Julie Kagawa

The Iron Daughter: Julie Kagawa

The Iron Fey: 2
Synopsis: Goodreads
Half Summer faery princess, half human, Meghan has never fit in anywhere. Deserted by the Winter prince she thought loved her, she is prisoner to the Winter faery queen. As war looms between Summer and Winter, Meghan knows that the real danger comes from the Iron fey—ironbound faeries that only she and her absent prince have seen. But no one believes her.
Worse, Meghan's own fey powers have been cut off. She's stuck in Faery with only her wits for help. Trusting anyone would be foolish. Trusting a seeming traitor could be deadly. But even as she grows a backbone of iron, Meghan can't help but hear the whispers of longing in her all-too-human heart.

Cover:
This cover is very pretty.I really like how it's purple I see very few covers that are purple..
My Review:
HMM what to say about this book?? I liked it. there some really good stuff in this book but for some reason I wasn't completely swept up in it. I know people are probably like are you crazy?? Let's start withe good! **Some spoilers**

I really liked how Meghan was able to hold her own when she was in Mab's court. She said what she needed to say even though she was hurting inside due to Ash's coldness and all the horrors in this court. I wish I would of had more time with Sage. I had a good feeling about him, he seemed that he wasn't as cold and hard as Rowan. I really was left wanting to know what he was going to discuss with Meghan. I know this sounds horrible but I actually liked that Mab was able to freeze Meghan when she got pissed. It just made the threat of Mab more serious. She's a women of her word, you don't want to get on her bad side.

I loved how powerful Meghan was. I had a feeling about her being able to manipulate iron. Makes me wonder what more she is capable of. I also really liked Leansihe. She gave me hope that not everything is horrible in this fairy world even though she had her own reasons. She was such an interesting character to read of. I really liked how she called everyone doll, and hun, and was creepy at the same time. Weird I know. Ironhorse was awesome. He changed so much and was so honorable.

I had a feeling about charles as soon as he was brought into the story. I don;t know how the author will figure out how to get him out from the in between but I am definitely interested. I was surprised by the ending. I really didn't expect Ash to do that. I was shocked and happy but left really unsettled to know what the future holds for them.

I also enjoyed that every time Meghan had to travel somewhere she wasn't almost always eaten. It was driving me crazy in the first book that every time they had to do something they were set off course because Meghan was in trouble.

Now things that drove me crazy!!! For some reason I really don't like Meghan. I love her powers, I really like the majority of all the side characters but I am not a fan of her. I hate the way she thinks. I don't feel like she learns. Every chance she gets she offers someone a favor in exchange for any problem. It's like she looks for trouble. I like certain parts of her personality but I don't really find her to be a great protagonist. She really got weaker in a sense. You would think with the stuff she dealt with in the iron king and everything she went through in this book she would be stronger and tougher. But she wasn't. I really didn't enjoy her personal thoughts. I think Grim said it throughout the entire book. HUMAN! she is the epitome of all crazy human emotions. That's why I will give her a break because that is a very realistic trait of hers but I wish she was different.

I really like Ash's character but the romance between Meghan and him wasn't that wonderful. I did like when they danced and Ash explained why he treated her like that but besides that. I didn't feel my heart flutter when he was near the Romance wasn't that great. It was very weak. Sometimes I didn't understand why they made such a great pair except that that's what is expected from them.

I really did enjoy it but I don't feel as strongly towards this series. I want to finish it of course. It really is written well and has a lot of adventure but I don't think I connected well with this one. I think the problem is Meghan. I think it's a problem when you like the supporting characters way more than the protagonists. I look forward to the iron queen in hopes it will be better!

Just Wondering Wednesdays *2*

The reason I decided to create this meme is because sometimes I am wondering bookish related things, such as likes, dislikes, pet peeves, things I love about books and I wanted to discuss it and see what other people's thoughts are on the subject. I figured I am not the only one wondering random things so maybe you guys might want to be apart of it.

So to participate every week is pretty simple. Every Wednesday I will ask a question about something I am wondering about and all you have to do is answer and use the Mr. Linky I provide. Now if lets say your not really interested in my questions or are maybe wondering some other bookish things that you want to discuss, then your post can be about what your wondering about this week. Simple?? I wanted to ask an easy question this week to get things started.

So I was just wondering what are the main things that make you love a book?
  • One of the things I look for in a book is a strong heroine. A girl that can fall madly in love with her swoon worthy man, but  not have her  brains turn into slush in the process. Girls that come to mind are Rose from Vampire Academy (Of course i had to use her as an example), she is badass, smart, strong,  and totally in love with Dimitri but doesn't loose herself in the process. Another girl that comes to mind is Katniss form the Hunger Games. She does what she needs to, thinks about boys, and is a survivor. My last pick is Laurel from Wings. She is completely not the badass chick, but yet she's smart, determined, and in love with Tam & David.

  •  A major thing that makes me fall in love with a book is character development. I need my characters to grow within a series and not continue to make the same mistakes. The example I will use is all the characters in Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead. This is the thing I love most about this author, every character in VA is not 1 dimensional. A good example is Mia. She's introduced as this high school enemy that her mission is to make Rose & Lissa look bad because of something that happened in the past.  Now the author could of kept her as the angry high school with that mission but Richelle Mead showed us that everyone has many sides and are not ruled by one emotion. I will also use Rose from VA. She goes through so much in this 6 book series, that she changes and grows up in many different way. I wouldn't ant anything else for Rose or I would have been cheated.

I would love to hear your thoughts on my question or if you guys have been wondering anything worth discussing?

"Both Ash and Puck blinked at me. "I'm fighting", I said in the firmest voice I could mange. "I don't want to hang back and watch everyone die for me. This is my war too"

OH what trouble did Meghan get into now??? This series is action packed all the time. There is no break ever! I haven't started this book yet. Hopefully I will in the next day or so. It's Monday! What are you Reading? *3*

What I am Currently Reading:
The Iron Daughter: Julie Kagawa
Synopsis: Goodreads

Half Summer faery princess, half human, Meghan has never fit in anywhere. Deserted by the Winter prince she thought loved her, she is prisoner to the Winter faery queen. As war looms between Summer and Winter, Meghan knows that the real danger comes from the Iron fey—ironbound faeries that only she and her absent prince have seen. But no one believes her.

So far this book is okay. Vampirebookclub.net rated this book one if the best books of 2010. I usually enjoy the books they rate and love their reviews. If I remember correctly they said this book was just as good as Spirit Bound by Richelle Mead who of course I love so that's why I originally started this series. But so far its been okay. I have been a little annoyed because I realized this whole series is a journey to somewhere for some reason. They will always be traveling between realms and Meghan will always almost get eaten. I guess I don't mind if one book is a series is like that but it's my favorite kind of plot for a whole series. For example Harry Potter: I feel like in Deathly Hallows Harry was on a quest you never knew what could happen because you were at the mercy of JK  Rowling, and that's what I feel this whole series is like. There is Order of the Phoenix where the main character stays in specific kind of place where the plot of the stories maintains. But the book isn't bad it's just not my preference. Anyways I am rambling on.
What I Plan on Reading:
The Iron Queen: Julie Kagawa
Synopsis: Goodreads

My name is Meghan Chase.
I thought it was over. That my time with the fey, the impossible choices I had to make, the sacrifices of those I loved, was behind me. But a storm is approaching, an army of Iron fey that will drag me back, kicking and screaming. Drag me away from the banished prince who's sworn to stand by my side. Drag me into the core of conflict so powerful, I'm not sure anyone can survive it.
This time, there will be no turning back.

I hope this book gives a good series ending. I don't know what to expect since I haven't finished the iron daughter. but we will see what happens.

So what are you reading this Monday??
