Review: Moonlight: Rachel Hawthorne

Title: Moonlight
Author: Rachel Hawthorne
Dark Guardian: Book 1
Summary:
I see him and knows what this turmoil inside of me means: He's the one. My forever.

KAYLA is the nature lover, the all-American beauty who can't understand why she's so drawn to distant, brooding Lucas. Adopted as a young child, she has no way of knowing that she's inherited a terrifying-and thrilling-gene that will change her life forever.

LUCAS is dangerous, gorgeous ... and a werewolf. As leader of the Dark Guardians, shape-shifters who gather deep within the state park, he has sworn to protect his pack. But when Lucas finds his true soul mate, his love could put them all in harm's way.

As Lucas and Kayla struggle with their feelings for each other, a greater danger lurks: Humans have discovered the Dark Guardians and are planning their destruction. Kayla must choose between the life she knows and the love she feels certain is her destiny.
Cover:
For some reason I like seeing redheads on book covers. They always look so pretty.

My Review:
So I was pleasantly surprised with this book. One main reason I wasnt sure if I was going to like it is because im not a huge fan of wolves. Im more of vampire fan. Especially after reading Blood and Chocolate which was highly regarded as a great werewolves book but it wasn't.

I was also hesitant because the books first page and prologue basically gave out the big secret, that Lucas and Kayla are wolves. So i figured how good can the book really be. Lucas is a sexy, cant help but fall in love with kinda guy. He reminds me a little of Dimitri from Vampire Academy; he is powerful and thinks a lot before he acts, very controlled, and alpha of his pack. You cant help but be excited that you have such a strong male lead in this book.

Kayla is very appealing as well shes strong, caring, and very relatable. I like how she dreamed about lucas, but was scared to like him because she was unable to understand her feelings. I was surprised with the whole twist with Mason. I liked also how the book didnt leave you in crisis mode too long. My only complaint is that I wish it could have been longer. Why didn't Rachel Hawthorne give me 200-300 more pages to continue falling in love. The intimate scenes were so exciting I couldnt help but want more. This is a definate must read i really liked it.

Review: Full Moon: Rachel Hawthorne

Title: Full Moon
Author: Rachel Hawthorne
Dark Guardian: Book 2
Summary:
I may be promised to another...but thoughts of Rafe consume me. I don't know how much longer I can resist.
LINDSEY is wild and reckless, a natural rebel—maybe because her entire life was laid out for her even before she was born. Her parents are among the most powerful members of the Dark Guardians, an ancient tribe of werewolves, and they arranged Lindsey's betrothal to Connor long ago. The next full moon is coming all too soon, and then her commitment to Connor will be final—no turning back. She should be happy...so why can't she stop thinking about gorgeous, brooding Rafe?

When a dangerous threat on the pack escalates, so do tensions between Connor and Rafe. A fight over Lindsey is imminent, but will it be to the death?

My Review:
What can i say about full moon? Hmmm i loved it. This is a series that is perfect for someone who wants thats swoon worthy romance in less than 300 pgs . I love how the author doesnt waste any time to get the story going, but doesnt make anything feel rushed. I fell for rafe so quickly and thought right off the back he was perfect for Lindsey.

People must take this book and series for what it is. There is not huge amount of world and charcer development, but just enough to like the charcaters , and most of the investment is in that romance. The only thing i didnt like was the repetitive speech lindsay would say; about how she thought love wasn't easily definable.

I found myself having to remind myself that i wanst reading through Kayla's POV. I loved the moments when Kayla and Lucas were around, I wish I could go back to that pov so i can see their romance continue to flourish. All in all i really enjoyed the book it was a quick read and i will definatly finsh this series.

Review: Dark of the Moon: Rachel Hawthorne

Title: Dark of the Moon
Author: Rachel Hawthorne
Dark Guardian: Book 3
Summary:
I've loved him forever, but he can never be mine.

BRITTANY is determined to prove herself to the Dark Guardians. And yet she's been keeping a devastating secret: She hasn't experienced any of the intense, early signs of change that mark a Dark Guardian's transformation. The only intense feelings she has are for Connor—and she's kept that a secret, too. But she knows she'll never truly have Connor's love if she's not a Shifter like him.
At the first full moon after her birthday, her greatest fear is realized: She doesn't transform. Brittany is so desperate to become a wolf that she'll go to extremes she never thought possible . . . and put all the Dark Guardians in incredible danger.

Cover:
I thought the cover was perfect for Brittany, she has that tough exterior about her.

My Review:
So i think i liked this one the best so far. I wasnt crazy about Brittany in the first two books. but her story was amazing. her determination is similar to Rose from Vampire Academy, wish is something i love. Their determination to be guardians is something I love!

She is so strong and smart and an amazing charcter to read her pov from. This author does an amazing job at wrapping you up into her story in such a limited amount of pages. I felt so bad for Brittany and I knew she was dealing with so much. These books are such a fun and easy light very enjoyable read. But just because it was light does not mean i wasnt flipping through the pages dying to see what would happen next.

Cant wait to read the last book of this series. Definately a must read!!
