On My Wishlist.....*11*

On My Wishlist is a great event that Book Chick City runs every Saturday. It's where you list all of the books that you desperately want but haven't actually bought yet. They can be old, new or forthcoming. I thought this was a great way to start off my blog.

Illusions: Aprilynne Pike
SYNOPSIS: GOODREADS
Laurel hasn't seen Tamani since she begged him to let her go last year. Though her heart still aches, Laurel is confident that David was the right choice.

But just as life is returning to normal, Laurel discovers that a hidden enemy lies in wait. Once again, Laurel must turn to Tamani to protect and guide her, for the danger that now threatens Avalon is one that no faerie thought would ever be possible. And for the first time, Laurel cannot be sure that her side will prevail.

I am putting this book again on my list because I am so ashamed I have not bought it yet. This book came out a about of month ago and I have yet to get my hands on it. I am so disappointed in myself. I need Tamina desperately!!!

Synopsis: GoodReads

BLOOD DOESN'T LIE

Sydney is an alchemist, one of a group of humans who dabble in magic and serve to bridge the worlds of human and vampires. They protect vampire secrets - and human lives. When Sydney is torn from her bed in the middle of the night, at first she thinks she's still being punished for her complicated alliance with dhampir Rose Hathaway. But what unfolds is far worse. Jill Dragomir - the sister of Moroi Queen Lissa Dragomir - is in mortal danger, and the Moroi must send her into hiding.

To avoid a civil war, Sydney is called upon to act as Jill's guardian and protector, posing as her roommate in the last place anyone would think to look for vampire royalty - a human boarding school in Palm Springs, California. But instead of finding safety at Amberwood Prep, Sydney discovers the drama is only just beginning.

Okay must I really explain why this is on my list!!! Im green with envy and jealousy from all the people that have the ARC to this book. I really want it and need more VA, even though it's a different world. I know I am borderline obssessed. But it's okay I accept myself. So for any one that has an ARC please share I will return once Im done reading it!

In My Mailbox *6*

Books Mentioned This Week For In My Mailbox:

So what did you guys get this week!!!!!

Just Wondering Wednesdays *3*

So to participate every week is pretty simple. Every Wednesday I will ask a question about something I am wondering about and all you have to do is answer and use the Mr. Linky I provide. Now if lets say your not really interested in my questions or are maybe wondering some other bookish things that you want to discuss, then your post can be about what your wondering about this week. Simple?? I

So I was wondering which paranormal/urban fantasy world out of the books you have read could be the most realistic
to find in our modern world?
I think this would have to consist of the world that Aprilynne Pike has created in her series Wings. I really have enjoyed reading this series so far. It's been very magical. The reason why I chose this series is because Aprilynne did an amazing job of actually explaining the world. She made the possibility of fairies being plants make sense. It wasn't a world of fairies playing evil tricks on humans and eating them. I actually could believe that their could be fairies in this world. (Not really im not that crazy). I loved how Laurel was vegan because she's a plant; and she has no heart beat, and that there could be a hidden world in the forest. Even the way the fairies procreate, sex is just for fun but poor Tamina must wear gloves if a fairy is in bloom. I likes that there were 4 different types of fairies for the different seasons. I of course loved how they tied in Shakespeare and the plays he created.  It really was magical and brought a lighter side to the world of fairies that isn't normally seen in YA. Aprilynne's world wasn't extremely complex but yet simple enough to be believable.

I would love to hear your thoughts on my question or if you guys have been wondering anything worth discussing?

Cover Crazy Monday *2*

OVER CRAZY MONDAY is a weekly meme hosted by  the Book Worms. The point of this meme is to admire the art and beauty of a book’s design, so I’m going to post minimal words. It is up to you to write how you feel and what you like about it the way you’d like to.

Wings, Spells, Illusions: Aprilynne Pike

First off I cheated I picked 3 books but I couldn't help myself.
Secondly I absolutely love the first two books and I betting that the third book is just going to get better and better.

I love love love these covers they are beyond beautiful. I love how the cover wings is so simple and very true to the story. It's a deceiving cover because, when I first saw this cover I thought oh how pretty a butterfly. But now I  noticed they look like petals. Which if you read the books it's quite beautiful.

I like how Spells cover is a little bit more busy and brighter. I felt as we learned more about the fairies we got  more of revealing cover.

As for Illusions I know you'll hate me but I love this cover as well its just as beautiful and the title makes me question what illusions are going to be depicted in the book and we will probably learn more about the fairies that make illusions. I love the book and covers and I recommend this series because it really is beautiful.

Review: Spells: Aprilynne Pike

Title: Spells
Author: Aprilynne Pike
Wings: Book 2
Summary:
Six months have passed since Laurel saved the gateway to the faerie realm of Avalon. Now she must spend her summer there, honing her skills as a Fall faerie. But her human family and friends are still in mortal danger--and the gateway to Avalon is more compromised than ever.

When it comes time to protect those she loves, will she depend on David, her human boyfriend, for help? Or will she turn to Tamani, the electrifying faerie with whom her connection is undeniable?

Cover:
I really like this cover, its very pretty. I love how they chose to have flower/plant because it's what Laurel is going to be working on in Avalon.

My Review:
I absolutely loved this book. I thought is was better than the first. I am definately routing for Tamina . This book was really realistic besides all the fairy stuff.

The trials Laurel is going through are very realistic. I love how David is the perfect boyfriend. He is everything Laurel could really ask for in a boyfriend. He is sweet and understanding and really tries to be her support.

Yet Tam is equally as attractice and nice but he has an edge and a riskiness that Laurel is drawn too. I feel so bad for Tam, especially since he has declared his feelings and Laurel is the only one that can do anything because of their (caste system). I want Laurel to choose Tam; of course he is the riskier choice, but it's for that reason. I think in real life I wouldn't be courageous enough to choose Tam because it isn't the safest course. So I guess I want to live vicariously through Laurel.

I loved how Aprilynne stylle of writing gets right to the poiny. As soon as the book started, Laurel was on her way to Avalon.I really was unable to put the book down. The ending was something else. I cant wait to read illusions, and I see why everyone else is so excited. Aprilynne Pike is an amazing writer.
