Just Wondering Wednesdays *5*

So to participate every week is pretty simple. Every Wednesday I will ask a question about something I am wondering about and all you have to do is answer and use the Mr. Linky I provide. Now if lets say your not really interested in my questions or are maybe wondering some other bookish things that you want to discuss, then your post can be about what your wondering about this week. Simple??

Since I have been unable to keep up with my meme im just going to do it when I have the time because I am focusing on school and my blog has been taking a back seat in my life recently.

So I was wondering what's the last book thta has left you in a book depression? (If you are unsure what that is read this awesome post about it from I's So Rather Be Reading!)

I would have to say Hourglass: Claudia Gray.. I finally finished that book after a couple of weeks. That should have been a sign it doesn't take me that long to read a book.. a couple of days tops. But I was not happy with the way that book was written and anytime I take so long with one book it makes me hesitant to read another.. I don't know I get the feeling that the next new book I read is going to be just as bad, so I kind of procrastinate from reading my next book, which trust me I know it's bad. I've been trying to begin reading Nevermore: Kelly Creagh and I keep telling myself oh let me start reading, and then I say oh no Ill just start it later, or tommorow.. I realized it's all Hourglass's fault it scared me in thinking i am just going to have to drag myself to finish any other book I read,

I would love to hear your thoughts on my question or if you guys have been wondering anything worth discussing?

So I was wondering which book has made you want to throw it or chuck it across the room because it got such a strong emotion out of you and why? Ex. (Mad, WTF, Sad, NOOOO!)

So far I think there have been two books that have made me want to chuck the book right at the wall. I was so pissed but I couldn't throw it because I had to keep reading.
Book # 1 Spirit Bound: Richelle Mead
  •  Spoilers if you have not read Spirit Bound!
  • The scene when Adrian and Rose were about to have sex. I was screaming NOOOOOOO! So since I screamed no at the book Rose and Adrian did not have sex. It was worse!! She let Adrian bite her. I was so peeved you would not believe how upset I was at Rose. I know it was a moment of vulnerability but man I was upset. it still gets me all riled up. Especially when she flicked her hair accidentally and Dimitri saw the bite. My heart stopped!
Book # 2 City of Bones: Cassandra Clare
  • Spoilers if you have not read CoB or CoG
  • How pissed was I when I was rooting for Jace and Clary only to find out they are siblings?  VERY!!!!!! I was so mad Cassandra Clare did this to me. I mean it was the ultimate impossible love. I felt so mad at myself for not guessing it sooner and felt grossed out! But man was I happy when I found out they weren't related because I so wanted them to be together!!!

Just Wondering Wednesdays *3*

So to participate every week is pretty simple. Every Wednesday I will ask a question about something I am wondering about and all you have to do is answer and use the Mr. Linky I provide. So I was wondering which paranormal/urban fantasy world out of the books you have read could be the most realistic
to find in our modern world?
I think this would have to consist of the world that Aprilynne Pike has created in her series Wings. I really have enjoyed reading this series so far. It's been very magical. The reason why I chose this series is because Aprilynne did an amazing job of actually explaining the world. She made the possibility of fairies being plants make sense. It wasn't a world of fairies playing evil tricks on humans and eating them. I actually could believe that their could be fairies in this world. (Not really im not that crazy). I loved how Laurel was vegan because she's a plant; and she has no heart beat, and that there could be a hidden world in the forest. Even the way the fairies procreate, sex is just for fun but poor Tamina must wear gloves if a fairy is in bloom. I likes that there were 4 different types of fairies for the different seasons. I of course loved how they tied in Shakespeare and the plays he created.  It really was magical and brought a lighter side to the world of fairies that isn't normally seen in YA. Aprilynne's world wasn't extremely complex but yet simple enough to be believable.

Just Wondering Wednesdays *2*

The reason I decided to create this meme is because sometimes I am wondering bookish related things, such as likes, dislikes, pet peeves, things I love about books and I wanted to discuss it and see what other people's thoughts are on the subject. I figured I am not the only one wondering random things so maybe you guys might want to be apart of it.

Simple?? I wanted to ask an easy question this week to get things started.

So I was just wondering what are the main things that make you love a book?
  • One of the things I look for in a book is a strong heroine. A girl that can fall madly in love with her swoon worthy man, but  not have her  brains turn into slush in the process. Girls that come to mind are Rose from Vampire Academy (Of course i had to use her as an example), she is badass, smart, strong,  and totally in love with Dimitri but doesn't loose herself in the process. Another girl that comes to mind is Katniss form the Hunger Games. She does what she needs to, thinks about boys, and is a survivor. My last pick is Laurel from Wings. She is completely not the badass chick, but yet she's smart, determined, and in love with Tam & David.

  •  A major thing that makes me fall in love with a book is character development. I need my characters to grow within a series and not continue to make the same mistakes. The example I will use is all the characters in Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead. This is the thing I love most about this author, every character in VA is not 1 dimensional. A good example is Mia. She's introduced as this high school enemy that her mission is to make Rose & Lissa look bad because of something that happened in the past.  Now the author could of kept her as the angry high school with that mission but Richelle Mead showed us that everyone has many sides and are not ruled by one emotion. I will also use Rose from VA. She goes through so much in this 6 book series, that she changes and grows up in many different way. I wouldn't ant anything else for Rose or I would have been cheated.

Just Wondering Wednesdays *1*

So I stated last Friday that I decided to create a new weekly meme called Just Wondering Wednesdays!!
(Soon I will create a Just Wondering Wednesday Pik, I will take suggestions)
So to participate every week is pretty simple. Every Wednesday I will ask a questions about something I am wondering about and all you have to do is answer and use the Mr. Linky I provide. Now if lets say your not really interested in my questions or are maybe wondering some other bookish things that you want to discuss, then your post can be about what your wondering about this week. Simple?? I wanted to ask an easy question this week to get things started.
I was just wondering what are your pet peeves when reading a book?
- What drives me insane are books that are told in 1st POV but in present tense. It's so annoying. I mean it's so simple to read a book in 1st POV past tense. I'n not sure if many know the difference so I will give an example.
Present: "I lay on my as my phone rings", Past: "As I laid in my bed my phone began to ring." I know for some that may not be a big deal but it drives me insane. As I read a book like that, I feel like I have to translate it into past tense, I know weird huh.

- Another thing that drives me crazy is when authors try to build suspense or interest in a book by withholding any information till the last 20 pages. I mean I understand that your trying to keep us surprised but come on now, I feel like if I am half way through a book and the protagonist doesn't know whats going on and really isn't doing much to figure it out or asking all the wrong questions, it doesn't make me want to continue reading.

I would love to hear your thoughts on my question or if you guys have been wondering anything worth discussing?
