Favorite Quotes *2*

So I decided to feature my favorite quotes of Matched on my blog. As I read more books, I will also be adding any other favorite quotes I have with other books that I read. I just love the feeling of having certain quotes transporting me to a part in the Book!

Since I just finished Matched by Ally Condie, early this morning I will be putting some quotes up today before I forget! Here's my review of Matched!

My Review:

        To begin with I was so super excited about reading this book for many reasons. I must say this book has one of the most simple yet most beautiful cover I have seen. I am a complete sucker for covers! Secondly I loved the synopsis and that it read so beautifully on google preview!

So now where to begin on my thoughts on the book?? Let’s discuss the things I liked! I was really enticed in the beginning of this book. To see Cassia so happy and accepting of the world she lived in was great. It made me understand how brainwashed and ignorant the society was. She felt all her dreams were coming true when it was far from it. I thought her acceptance of the society was genuine. She had no reason to think the society was evil. She knew the rules and followed them perfectly. But even though she probably never questioned the society before she saw Ky on her microsd card, her wanting of knowledge was believable. She didn’t automatically accept or deny that the society was up to no good. She was smart.

        I enjoyed seeing her peel open like an onion which is a weird saying. The reason why I said this is because once she started questioning one thing she began thinking about how it affected other parts of her life which made her question more. She was never rash in her decisions and always very careful in what she did. I think the author did an amazing job at explaining how this world function and not making it sound crazy or psychotic even though it really was. The officials reminded me of the specials from the Uglies Trilogy but not that evil. It was so freaky how they literally controlled every aspect of their lives I mean it was really extreme and that can’t even cover it.

        I really liked how the author explored the relationships in Cassia’s life such as her parents. They were very respected and followed all the rules but were not ignorant to the fact there was something wrong. You could also really tell how much that family loved it each other.  They were all so darn cute. Xander was such a great character to read about as well because he always seemed to not be completely ignorant which I liked. He was very in tuned with Cassia and I feel bad how things ended with them. I also feel bad for Ky, he really has had such a hard life. He kind of reminded me of Aislinn from Wicked Lovely. He always knew how to blend in not call attention to himself because he knew better.  

        Some of the things that I particularly didn’t care for are the following.  The whole time I was reading Matched I was waiting for the other shoe to drop or something crazy to happen. I mean someone running away, or getting caught or type of action to liven up the book. The beginning was good but it started dying out on me. If I hadn’t read this book in one sitting than it would have taken me forever to finish it. It’s not one if those books where something crazy happen at the end of some chapters that keep you going till the end. This book was more of discovering things through each chapter. It was very slow paced. After a while I realized that there was not going to be some big moment so I accepted the book for what it is. At times there were a little bit too many descriptions about the poems or something else but I brushed it off.

        Overall the book was pretty good. It’s one of those books that make you think thank god I don’t live like that. Or what would I do in that situation. The level of control that the society has in Matched is disturbing and really makes you wonder. I am positive that I will read the sequel Crossed and I hope it’s better. Maybe since a lot of the plot and groundwork were setup in Matched it will lead to more exciting scenes in Crossed!

I love love this cover!!!  I love how she's in a bubble it's very representative of the society she's living in.  I love her dark chocolate hair with her bright green dress. She looks so pretty I love this book so much!!!

On My Wishlist is a great event that Book Chick City runs every Saturday. It's where you list all of the books that you desperately want but haven't actually bought yet. They can be old, new or forthcoming. I thought this was a great way to start off my blog.
     There  are 3 Main books that I have been itching to get my hands on, that for some reason everyone has read.

I am so excited about this book. I read the first few chapters of this book online from Google preview and wow o wow its addicting. I never knew these dystopian style books would be of interest to me. After reading the Uglies trilogy and the Hunger Games, I figured this must be another great book. The reviews I read and heard have been nothing but the best. I just want to say I Love, Love, Love this cover. The way she's in a bubble and looking so beautiful. So excited about reading this one!

So can anyone say love triangle. I know everyone says they are tired of it but are you really? I don't think so, I know I am not! I'm excited about this book because Calla seems she is going to be that strong female protagonist that I really love in books. I am hoping she has Rose (from VA) about her. Everyone has been reviewing this book to be so amazing, that I have to see what the fuss is all about. I love this cover as well they did such an amazing job. I love how her eyes stand out.

I really want to get my hands on this book for many reasons. First: VampireBookClub raved about this book. I love and usually agree with the majority of their book reviews. But they had seemed to think this book was so good almost as good as Spirit Bound by  Richelle Mead.  That I find to be an amazing compliment, seeing as I love Richelle Mead's writing and hold the Vampire Academy Series to the highest regard. Aside from VampireBookClub, I really have heard amazing things about this book. I guess I just want to fall in love with Prince Ash!
